International Team

The international team is made up of these people

Mrs Natasha McKee
Director of International Students

As the Director of International Students at Whanganui High School, I look forward to welcoming students into our vibrant community. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where students from around the world can grow both academically and personally. Drawing from my own experiences studying abroad in Japan, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities of studying in a new country.

We are excited to welcome students to Whanganui High School, where they will find a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that encourages each student to reach their full potential. Our international department staff works collaboratively to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed and feel at home.

Mr Beck Ding
Dean of International Students

I have been a part of the Whanganui High School team since 2011. Originally from Harbin, I came to New Zealand as an international student and studied languages, teaching, and education at the University of Auckland. My personal experience gives me a unique understanding of what it’s like to be an international student in New Zealand.

As the International Dean, I am the advocate for our international students, responsible for their pastoral care and academic monitoring. I am always available to support students and homestays and organise activities and trips to enrich their experience. Outside of work, I enjoy playing football in the local league. My wife and I have two young children who attend primary school.

Mrs Anna Van De Vyver
Homestay Co-ordinator

Originally from Warsaw, Poland, I emigrated to New Zealand with my family in 2006 and love it here in Whanganui. With a Bachelor of Tourism and having lived in many different countries, I embrace world cultures and enjoy travel, meeting people, and learning about new places. I am a positive, enthusiastic person and love working with international students.

I support international students during school hours, helping with orientation, classroom activities, and everyday needs. I also organize trips to enhance their Whanganui High School experience.

As the Homestay Coordinator, I plan, organize, manage, and monitor the homestay needs of our international students to ensure they are well cared for and that our department complies with relevant codes and standards. I match students with the right families based on their interests and preferences. I enjoy working closely with homestay parents to ensure a great experience for both students and host families. We have a wonderful range of homestay families who love hosting our international students. I look forward to working with you.
