Whanganui High School has hosted international students for the past 25 years. Our focus is on your happiness and enjoyment of your international experience. Our international team are kind and caring and provide many exciting opportunities for you to experience our beautiful country.
Our students come from all around the world and choose Whanganui for its central location and access to nature. International students also select Whanganui High School for their education when they want to be away from the distractions of the big cities, want to concentrate on learning English and prepare for entry to university.
Our school will offer you a huge variety of subjects to choose from, including languages, the arts and technology, a multitude of sporting opportunities, including rowing, athletics and sports’ performance training as well as the chance to be part of shows and musical groups.
As an international student, you will become a member of your homestay family. This will also provide lots of opportunities to practise your English-speaking skills.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school and to our city.
Whanganui High School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Ministry of Education. Copies of the Code are available on request from this institution or from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority website.
You may also be able to find a copy of the Code of Practice in your language at this link Details of our refund policy, insurance and immigration requirements and conditions of acceptance are to be found on our International Application Form.
The school will be closed on all public holidays.
Parents will be notified if students are not required at school for any extraordinary reason.
